The Legacy of a Great Man

Michael Skoubis had a great love for family values, an unwavering dedication to his Greek Orthodox faith and a fervent passion for the game of basketball. Through his decades of involvement in Church youth programs, Michael instilled his values, dedication and passion in the children he coached.

Our Mission

The Michael Skoubis Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed to honor the memory and contributions of Michael N. Skoubis to the Greek youth of Chicago by providing scholarships to undergraduate and professional students of Hellenic descent, based on academic excellence, financial need and community involvement.

Faith

Michael’s dedication to his faith, church, and community were important in his everyday life.

Teamwork

Through teamwork, Michael encouraged those around him to better themselves and those around them.

Michael taught discipline to those that he coached, mentored, and cared for throughout the years.

Respect was paramount in how Michael carried himself and viewed it as an important value for all.

Whether his team was up by 30 pts or down by 20 pts, Michael ensured to show sportsmanship.
